About Jan

Jan, as a true Dutchman, has been riding his bike since the tender age of 4.

His bicycle became his trusted companion, taking him everywhere, from school and grocery shopping to work and visiting friends. But what began as a means of transportation soon evolved into a thrilling passion and source of adventure.

Taking his bike with him to various countries where he lived and worked, Jan discovered the joy of exploring new roads, physically challenging himself and immersing himself in nature. Jan has experience cycling and touring through a variety of places ranging from Taiwan to Italy and from Laos to Switzerland.

His extensive experience traveling and cycling in China ignited a desire to share the beauty of riding in Xinjiang with fellow cycling enthusiasts.

About Wing

As a girl from Hong Kong, Wing truly embarked on her cycling journey when she joined her friends in a triathlon, igniting a newfound passion for road biking. From that moment on, regardless of her whereabouts, be it Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, Milan, or any other European city, she embraced her bicycle as the sustainable mode of transport.

“I feel absolute freedom on the bike! Cycling has the perfect tempo to ‘feel’ part of the environment and to ‘experience’ the exquisite beauty of the country.”

Cycle touring not only provides Wing the opportunity to explore the world like a local but also captivates Wing with its unique blend of tourism and self-challenge. And that is precisely what has driven her to work with Jan and introduce the Silk Road Cycling tour to Western cycling enthusiasts!

Wing has lived and worked in China for several years and has enjoyed her China travels tremendously.

“I understand that cycling in China may seem distant and challenging for Europeans or Americans, with the added difficulties of planning and coordinating everything from a distance. We are therefore happy to arrange this for you”
